Choosing your home marina in Croatia is a delightful challenge because each option promises unforgettable memories and easy access to some of the world’s most beautiful waters. Every harbor opens the door to endless adventures: historic landmarks, paradise beaches, and secluded islands, all just a short cruise away with your Wellcraft.

Historical landmarks & potential mother ports
The allure of the Croatian coast has endured for centuries, thanks to its sheltered natural harbors, calm sailing conditions, and countless coves. Unlike the straight, rugged Italian coastline across the Adriatic, Croatia offers safer passages and more inviting anchorages. Today, those same natural havens continue to attract sailors and boaters from around the world.
Broadly, the coastline can be divided into two main areas: the North Adriatic, home to Istria and Kvarner, and Dalmatia, further south, which itself comprises three distinct regions: North, Central, and South Dalmatia. Each with its own charm, culture, and style.
1. South Dalmatia – Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik’s Old Town rises dramatically from the sea, surrounded by 14th- to 18th-century stone walls that have protected it for centuries. Fans of Game of Thrones may recognize these fortifications and the city streets from several scenes of the series.
Be sure to visit the Museum of Contemporary Art Dubrovnik, which showcases Croatian creativity from the late 19th century to the present day. The terrace overlooking the Adriatic is as breathtaking as the artworks inside.

2. Central Dalmatia – Split and Trogir
Central Dalmatia is rich in history and culture, with Split and Trogir serving as living museums of Roman, medieval, and Renaissance architecture. In Split, you can explore Diocletian’s Palace, built between 295 and 305 AD. It is one of the best-preserved Roman monuments in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Stroll through its narrow streets, enjoy dinner in a charming konoba or fine restaurant, or shop for souvenirs within the ancient walls. Nearby Trogir, also on the UNESCO list, enchants visitors with its stone alleys, graceful churches, and seaside promenade.

3. North Dalmatia – Zadar and Sibenik
In Sibenik, the magnificent Cathedral of St. James, another UNESCO site, stands as a masterpiece of stone artistry.
Meanwhile, Zadar invites you to experience the famous Sea Organ, an architectural wonder that transforms the rhythm of the waves into hauntingly beautiful music — nature’s own melody echoing across the promenade.
4. Istria and Kvarner
Choosing the North Adriatic as your base has many advantages. The marinas in Istria and Kvarner are modern, well-equipped, and ideally located. They offer fuel stations, maintenance facilities, and easy access to some of Croatia’s most scenic stretches of coastline.
Pula, Rovinj, Poreč, and Cres stand out as top choices. Pula captivates with its Roman amphitheater and ancient ruins, while Rovinj enchants visitors with pastel houses and narrow cobbled streets. Poreč is known for its lively nightlife and beaches, and Cres has recently earned its 22nd Blue Flag for cleanliness and sustainability, as well as a new sea garbage collector. It is a really eco-friendly marina.
How to get from one port to the next?
Naturally, the best way to explore these beautiful coastal towns is by sea.
For instance, the motorboat Wellcraft 38 Explorer is perfect for family travel. It is very easy to drive, safe, and fast. With this powerful yacht, you could comfortably cover the distance from one region to the next in just one day.
Whichever model you choose, every Wellcraft ensures that your journey along the Adriatic is fast, comfortable, and unforgettable.
