Sea Ray reveals the newest additions to the SDX series: SDX 250 and SDX 250 SURF

SDX 250 models’ overview

The SDX 250 models, combine spaciousness and capability, featuring an 8′ 6” beam on a 25-foot boat. Both models have a wide, open layout optimized for comfort and space. Key features include an upgraded cockpit with a sleek, curved windshield for better visibility, a plush L-shaped bench and an integrated cooler. The oversized helm seat and port companion seat come with movable backrests that easily switch from forward- to aft-facing positions.

Sea Ray designed the SDX 250 models with ample storage and convenience throughout. The transom walkway has an in-floor compartment with drainage for wet gear, and storage space under the cockpit bench. The starboard compartment stores life jackets, towels, and larger gear, with an upgrade option for a head with a sink and countertop. The spacious bow features U-shaped lounge seating and an integrated cooler for easy access to refreshments. At the transom, a convertible sunpad with a fold-down backrest offers a lounging spot, while the broad swim platform includes a concealable ladder and manual submersible step. The transom also has a ski tow eye for watersports and an optional Fusion® remote for convenient stereo control.

Surfing capabilities and technology

With impressive power and performance, the SDX 250 is driven by a standard 300HP Mercury MerCrusier 6.2L MPI ECT engine, featuring a Bravo Three drive, SmartCraft technology and Digital Throttle and Shift (DTS) controls. The SDX 250 Surf stand out with an advanced wakesurfing system, powered by the same MerCrusier engine, but equipped with a forward-facing Bravo Four S drive and contra-rotating props. This drive system not only enhances wakesurfing but also improves manoeuvrability.

The SDX 250 Surf is equipped with Sea Ray’s advanced NextWave™ surf system, designed to create consistent, rideable waves for wakesurfing and other exciting watersports. The specially engineered transom generates a clean wave with ample push, while electric surf tabs, Active Trim, and three ballast tanks with 1,550 lbs. of ballast precisely control the wave height, creating either a long or short wave pocket. The boat features a custom Sea Ray surf interface powered by Mercury Smart Tow®, providing three pre-set modes for surfing, wakeboarding, and skiing/tubing. Riders can also easily adjust the wave settings via a visual display, allowing for quick customization to match individual preferences and skill levels.

The SDX 250 helm features intuitive technologies and advanced controls, ensuring that captains of any experience level can easily manage the boat. It boasts a Digital Dash with a standard 9″ Simrad® NSX® touchscreen display (dual 9″ NSX displays come standard on the surf model), offering a chartplotter with preloaded maps and Mercury Marine® SmartCraft® Connect for streamlined engine monitoring. Additional features include Active Trim control and monitoring, as well as an optional inductive charging station.
