Fathom® e-Power System aboard Saxdor Yachts

Saxdor Yachts is partnering with Navico Group, to become the first boatbuilder outside the US to integrate the Fathom® e-power system into their vessels. This innovative lithium-ion auxiliary power management solution redefines energy efficiency and onboard comfort for Saxdor owners.

The groundbreaking Fathom® system utilizes a unique generator function integrated into a special version of the Mercury V10-400 engine. This way it acts as a generator whether the boat is stationary or in motion. When paired, the engines generate up to 12 kW of power, directly charging the 48-volt Mastervolt lithium batteries with maximum efficiency and minimal energy loss.

By incorporating advanced digital controls, intelligent load management, and sophisticated monitoring capabilities, the Fathom® system delivers seamless and dependable power for all onboard appliances. Moreover, the noise, vibration, and fumes typically associated with traditional generators are non-existent.

Enhanced Comfort and Sustainability

Daniel Scharf, Chief Product Officer at Saxdor stated: “The Fathom® e-power system is a game-changer for onboard power management, and we’re thrilled to introduce it to our customers in collaboration with Navico Group. For boat owners, this means nearly ‘unlimited’ power for high-demand systems such as air conditioning and stabilizers—offering an advanced alternative to traditional diesel generators.”

Saxdor plans to introduce this innovative technology on the Saxdor 400 GTC. After that, they’ll be expanding it to other models equipped with V10-400 engines. This endeavor further solidifies Saxdor’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the boating industry.

A New Era of Power Management

John Bennett, VP and General Manager, Power Systems at Navico Group, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “Our 20 years of experience with lithium batteries, combined with our expertise in integrating our comprehensive product portfolio, have allowed us to develop a premium power system that will significantly enhance how Saxdor customers manage and monitor their power consumption, ensuring a more enjoyable and seamless experience on the water.”

The integration of the Fathom® e-power system marks a significant step forward in onboard power management, promising Saxdor owners a quieter, more efficient, and environmentally friendly boating experience.
