Where is Pula?

Pula is the largest town in Istria. It’s located on the tip of the Istrian Peninsula. This coastal city with ancient Roman monuments and buildings is widely recognized for its untouched nature, calm sea and beach-lined coast. Where is the new Marina Polesana?

Besides sailing out on your dream vacation from SplitSlano or Rogoznica, Nautika Centar Nava now offers Pula as a starting point, from the season 2022!

To be more precise, Nautical Marina Polesana is situated on St. Katarina island – Monumenti, north of the bay of Pula. The Marina lies in an area of 10 ha that is also a cultural heritage site. Thanks to many modern facilities, Marina Polesana will meet the needs and wishes even of the most demanding nautical tourists.

To illustrate, the Marina Polesana (upon its completion in 2023) will consist of:

  • Restaurant & Café bar
  • Parking & Garages
  • Shopping mall
  • 4* /5* Hotel with 100 rooms 

Since the location of the Marina is close to the city center of Pula (only 6 kilometres/3 miles away), all other amenities such as the post office, pharmacy, or ambulance are reachable by car. 

Get to Pula by Plane

The closest international airport to Pula is the Pula Aiport (PUY) only 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) North-East of the city. It’s very well-connected to all the major European cities. For instance, Brussels, Copenhagen, Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt, Berlin, Oslo, Moscow, Stockholm, Geneva, Zurich, London, Machester, Birmingham, etc. Check the Pula Airport website for more information.

1. Special Transfer

Regardless of whether you are flying into Pula or other international airports, Nava Charter offers special transfers. Book your private transfer when flying into all airports, such as Zagreb, Zadar, Split, Pula or Dubrovnik. Read more on this tailor-made option as well further in the text.

2. Taxi

Comfortable and simple, especially for guests with a lot of luggage. You can find available vehicles outside the terminal next to the bus stop. For further information, visit the taxi information website

3. Shuttle bus

If you are a budget traveler, then choosing public transportation is the best way for you. Take the shuttle bus from the airport to the bus station in Pula. Besides, the price of the ticket is affordable and costs only 4 euros (30 kuna). It is possible to pay by cash and card as well. 4. Rent a car

This option gives you flexibility and is perfect if you are staying in Pula or Croatia prior to or following your charter. The drive makes for a nice road trip with plenty of nearby sights to visit and enjoy all over Istria. If you only wish to drive yourself to the marina, the distance from Pula airport is only 11 kilometers (6 miles) and it takes about 20 minutes of driving. You need to take road 401, then 66, and afterward, follow Prekomorskih Brigada street which guides you to the marina. Arriving by Boat

Air cushion catamarans are high-speed boats that connect Pula to Venice, Italy.  They sail every Tuesday in June and September, and Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday in July and August. Tickets start from 55 euro per person. Check their schedule or book a ticket on the Venezia lines website. The ride takes 3.5 hours. 

Arriving by Car

Certainly, driving is the easiest and most relaxed way to get from A to B. Pula is excellently connected via the Istrian “Y” Motorway. Here is how to get to Pula from different directions via main roads:

  • driving from the west: Trieste – Kopar – Buje – Pula
  • from the north: Villach – Ljubljana – Kopar – Buje – Pula,
  • and from the east: Zagreb – Rijeka – Tunnel Učka – Pazin – Pula

And Pula is not so far from European and Croatian cities:

Getting to Pula by car also gives you an opportunity to maybe visit some interesting sites along the way. For instance, the smallest town in the world – Hum, or the fairy-tale-like Motovun,  or taste some local olive oil or sip some refreshing Malvazija wine.

Arriving by Bus

In the case you wish to travel by bus from your home, you are lucky! Pula has good bus connections with other European cities. These include direct lines to, for instance: Trieste, Stuttgart, and Munich. Since it is well-connected with Zagreb, it is an excellent option for budget travelers. 

Besides, it takes 4 to 5 hours to get there by bus. Furthermore, the bus station is in the city center, so all the famous sights are within walking distance.

Charter check-in and check-out procedures 

Ahoy captain, welcome on board! The check-in at the Marina Polesana is available from 5 p.m. on Saturdays. The check-out has to be handled by 8:30 a.m. on Saturdays as well.
